Service Children

At Sithney School we offer an additional programme of support for our service children. Children meet every fortnight with a member of staff who is a TIS (Trauma Informed Schools) practitioner. These afternoon sessions are designed to provide the service children with time to talk as part of a nurture group, develop confidence and build team work through a variety of challenges and activities.

The service children are also provided with away day experiences where they have extended opportunities to develop as a group / team. More recently, this group went to Swanpool beach in Falmouth where they completed a RNLI surf safe morning at Elemental before having a picnic lunch, sand sculpture challenge and crazy golf session in the afternoon. All children from service family backgrounds are included in this provision and range from Year 1 right through to Year 6.
